Our Story
Hi! We're Hailey and Kerik, the founders of We've Got Rhythm Studio!
Music has always been more than a passion for us. It has shaped our lives, brought us together, and inspired us to share what we love with others. We're excited to share a little about who we are, how we got here, and why we decided to create our own music studio.
Where it all Started...
My musical journey began in Spotsylvania, Virginia, where I grew up singing and learning piano and saxophone. My love for music eventually led me to the University of Mary Washington, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Music.
Throughout my musical career, I've had the opportunity to perform with a variety of ensembles and musical groups, exploring different styles and gaining valuable performance experience.
When the COVID-19 pandemic made college increasingly expensive, I decided to pursue a new opportunity through military service. I successfully auditioned for the United States Army Band as a saxophonist and later had the opportunity to perform as a vocalist.
Eventually, I decided to pursue singing as my primary career. I auditioned for the United States Navy Band and became a lead vocalist with Navy Band Southwest in San Diego, California, where I continue to perform professionally.
Meet Kerik
My musical journey began in Puerto Rico, where I studied French horn at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. Before completing my studies, I successfully auditioned for the United States Army Band and began my career as a professional military musician.
Throughout my military service, I had the opportunity to perform on French horn, trumpet, and electric bass in a variety of ensembles and musical settings. Although French horn was my first professional instrument, I eventually discovered my true musical passion: the electric bass.
Alongside my military career, I continued my education, earning my Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and pursuing graduate studies in Music Technology. I've also spent years teaching private music lessons, working with students of different ages, skill levels, and musical interests.
After completing my Army contract in October 2026, I decided to dedicate more of my time to music education, performance, and building something meaningful with Hailey.

Hailey and Kerik met while serving in the United States Army Band, where a shared love for performing, teaching, and helping others grow as musicians became an important part of their relationship. Beyond our military service, we both worked as private music instructors at local music studios, gaining valuable experience teaching students of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
Eventually, Hailey decided to pursue her passion for singing full-time. She successfully auditioned for the United States Navy Band and became a lead vocalist with Navy Band Southwest, bringing us to beautiful San Diego, California. Kerik completed his Army contract in October 2026 and continued pursuing his passion for music through private instruction and performance.
Why We Started Our Studio
After years of performing professionally and teaching students, we came to believe something strongly:

Whatever their goals may be, we believe every student deserves an instructor who understands their individual needs, encourages their creativity, and genuinely cares about their progress.
That's why we decided to create our own online music studio.
We wanted to combine our professional performance experience, formal music education, and years of teaching into something more than just private lessons.
Our studio offers personalized online instruction, flexible scheduling, educational resources, and a welcoming community where musicians can learn, share, perform, and grow together.
